Meet Our New School Manager

A long-time resident of Yellow Springs and fan of the Antioch School and its students, over the years MJ Richlen has worked at the Community Children's Center and other childcare facilities, both as teacher and as director.

M.J. Richlen, our School Manager

Several of MJ's children and grandchildren have attended Antioch School over the years, including current students Richard and Ella Taylor. Her love of children and of the Antioch School will make her a welcome face in our daily lives.

Learn more about MJ in the February letter of the month.

Our School Manager

Our School Manager, M.J. Richlen, is really a facilitator. Her responsibilities do not extend to creation or implementation of the academic program, and other duties commonly associated with the role of a principal.

Instead, she provides the various committees and the Board of Directors with technical information they need to make decisions, and she helps implement decisions which have been made by the Board. This could include arranging for a new boiler to be installed, assisting with special fundraising, or the printing of our newsletters.

The School Manager is also responsible for support services such as publicity, purchasing, internal and external communication, upkeep of student records, management of finances, management of the facility – as well as applying bandaids to skinned knees.

She is here to keep all of these many and varied elements – the machinery of The Antioch School – coordinated and running smoothly as a whole.
